FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far in advance should we book you?
We always get booked pretty far in advance, so our advice is to book us as soon as possible! Most organisers will book 12 months in advance, but providing we have a spare date we shall always do our best to accommodate you.
What’s the best way to book you?
The first thing is to check our availability for your show dates - use the form on the Contact page - or phone (01296 708722 or 0787 602 4616) to do this. Once we've established we are available, we'll contact you for a discussion and if agreed send you a Booking Form to complete and return to us. Once received, it's a confirmed booking and we will block out that date on our schedule exclusively for you. Don't leave it too late - we get booked up way in advance.
How long after the event can we expect to get the video?
In general, it takes between 2-3 weeks for us to edit and colour grade your footage, but in busy periods it is normally between 4-6 weeks. We will, of course, keep you fully informed of the timescales for completion.
How do you supply the videos?
We provide a digital download/streaming option for your finished video (like Netflix or iPlayer) as most people now prefer streaming rather than having a DVD. You can still charge your clients for a digital download/stream for your complete show or just individual dances.
The quality of a streaming video is vastly superior to a Standard Definition DVD (4 to 6 times better quality). Additionally, it saves you the costs of DVD duplication and distribution. So it's a win-win all round!
Can you provide us with a DVD?
No, we do not produce DVDs any longer as the quality is so poor and there are now very few suppliers making DVDs any longer.
When do you need payment?
The fee is due when you have received and approved the final digital download links. We prefer payment via bank transfer. No upfront costs!
Do you use Sub-Contractors?
No, we always film everything ourselves to ensure top quality and consistency of shots.
Are your videographers DBS checked?
Yes, both our videographers are fully DBS checked and frequently work with the very young, elderly or less able.
What happens when a parent does not want their child filmed?
We work on the basis that you have obtained permission from all performers (or their legal representatives) in the show to be filmed, and for that recording to be privately distributed. It is not possible for us to blank out or blur out individual performers.
We retain the right to display your video on our website for promotional purposes. However, if that would present a problem for you, please let us know as soon as possible and we shall not to use the particular video/dance in question.
Should we stop parents recording the show themselves?
Definitely, if you are selling the video of the performance! Additionally, some parents do not want their children to appear in video that could appear on social media, so we recommend making an announcement at the start of the show and in the show programme. Most, if not all, theatres do not allow filming in the theatre for this and copyright reasons.
How much space do you need to set up?
We always need to be at the back of the auditorium and in a central position. If it’s possible to have a space in the Circle as well that is ideal. We’ll need about 2m x 2m to set up our equipment (about 3 seats) for each camera. We prefer to have a power cable nearby, but if that’s not possible, we can run from batteries as we have our own power banks.
